Evaluation

BA (Hons.) GRAPHIC DESIGN
LEVEL
04
 Module Code
OUGD403

 Module Title
DESIGN SKILLS

END OF MODULE SELF-EVALUATION

NAME

Molly Goggin

1.  What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?

I think I’ve developed my skill of looking at design and being aware of people I should know about. Although I haven’t contacted them that’s because for me I haven’t needed to. But I know that I don’t really need a reason, I should just ask a question and see if I get a reply.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?

This module has allowed me to get to know what kind of designer I am and what I like. Which is stuff like screen-printing, with the manifesto. Having that manifesto is really helpful because it will be interesting if I want to change the points along the way of this course.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?

I like to find designers online but don’t use blogs, which I want to start to do properly. However I finding them online like Instagram and such platforms means they’re normally quite easy to contact, which I do want to do more often.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?

I still haven’t really gotten in contact with designers, which I need to learn to do. I think I’m a bit scared of the idea of it, but shouldn’t be because if they don’t reply, that’s all that happens. It’s not the end of the world.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?

Contact professionals
Keep up to date with blogs
Go to more exhibitions and talks
Go to design houses and invite myself in
Think about my personal professional practise more than I have

6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas:
(please indicate using an ‘x’)

5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor

The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
