Module Evaluation
I wished I realised I wanted to rebrand myself earlier on in the year. If i had I would of been able to experiment with paper stock, what briefs to put in my portfolio etc. I think there's always time to develop ideas so this could be a small project to start me off after uni. This module has been really good because of my placement. Getting that taught me so much about design and the working corporate side of design. I'm really glad I got that opportunity. I think DBA was good in terms of working with professionals. The crits with them were good, however I really couldn't connect with the brief. It was difficult tying to put a lot of effort in when I was working on more interesting briefs. This module has been tough in areas, exciting and new in others but overall it's been enjoyable.
Contact
This year I was quite good at getting in contact with studios. A lot of this was because of Cop but I've definitley grown in confidence with things like that. I reached out to quite a few studios in order to get a placement.
Online Presence
I don't have a specific website yet but I will be getting one together soon. I haven't yet because I can't take good photos of my work. I really want to take better photo and put my work online when I'm more confident with it.
I do however have a behance which I need to keep up to date. I think thats a really good website to use. I use behance as an onlie portfolio as well. When I send emails out to studios and companies I give them the address to look at.
I still have a linkedin but rarely use it. I think I need to learn about it a bit more and use it to its full extent.

I'm going to be setting up an instagram soon with new work. I use instragram a lot and think it would be a good way to meet people.
Personal Rebrand Promo Pack
I applied a couple of the logo's details to my business card. I decided using the purple lines in the corner would work the best. This way the design isn't off balance and looks good to the eye. I want to use business cards because I think they are useful. I would prefer to give someone my details in this format rather than, writing down on scrap paper or trying to remember it for them to write down.
I wanted to create a mailer for my favourite places to impress. I put together a couple of my favourite briefs and put them in small publication. This will be good to send out to studio's etc when applying for jobs. It needs reprinting however as some of the colours aren't right. The mini portfolio is written in a very laid back casual way, I think writing it the way I speak is better for people to see personality.

I also branded my CV that I've had written for a while. The logo works really well as a letter head as well.
This little promo pack is really easy to send out to people and hopefully get me a job. However, when it comes to sending these out I think I will reprint on a better stock. I've used bulky newsprint and the colour has washed my patterns and colours out a bit.
Personal Rebrand Logo
I've decided to rebrand myself because I've developed a strong interest in Constructivism and design that follows that aesthetic. I really like my old logo because although it's a good design, however it doesn't communicate my design practice.
I like to work digitally, use Constructivism and a lot of fonts like Futura and Universal. I want to incorporate that into my new branding.
Old Branding
I started with two colours that are opposite but work well together, I like to use opacity to create new colours and layers, I was experimenting with these ideas here.
I thought of using the letters as shapes as well, so this is why I drew round the two 'o's' in these two colours. From there I looked at Stepanvoa's work and looked at the shapes used. There's a lot of circles and lines which is why I introduced it to my logo.

Old Branding
This branding is very delicate and detailed and I just don't think that suits the way I work. This is a very formal looking design which I don't like. I want use my nick name, 'mol gog' because it's more fun and sounds good.
I looked at business cards with a pattern on one side and the information on the other. I wasn't sure how to write my contact details in the best order, so looked at these for help. Stepanova's patterns were influential to me. She was a constructivist and married to Rodchenko. She created lovely patterns and textiles using this design movement. I want to take inspiration from her designs.
I wanted to letter press my logo because I hadn't really used a lot of printing methods. However, when I was setting it up I realised letterpress doesn't demonstrate my design practice. So I feel, if used letter press for my self branding people would expect me to be very print based, when I'm not.
I went digital and used the same typeface as the letterpress but on my laptop.

I've experimented with a lot of colour once I was happy with the two circle and line formation. I think this could create a good pattern without the letters.
This is the final logo. It uses three colours, which is quite a lot but it allows me to show people I like to work with colour.
I created some patterns using the shapes from behind the letters on my logo. I really like the bottom one, just using the double o. This would work well on my business card.
